Mead is an alcoholic beverage made primarily from honey, water, and yeast.

When yeast ferments the sugar from honey, it produces alcohol and creates a beverage similar to wine, but with honey as the primary flavor contributor rather than grapes. Mead can be sweet, semi-dry, or dry, and it can be sparkling or still, high in alcohol, or “sessionable,” depending on the mead-maker’s intentions.

Our mead selection offers a variety of flavors to suit every taste. Some are one- off, while these 3 are our staples.

Møy –  a more traditional taste, our base mead – made with just honey, water, and yeast, this mead has a clean, pure taste that highlights the natural sweetness of honey.

Agdir – our oak-aged mead provides a more complex flavour profile with hints of vanilla, caramel, and smokiness that pairs well with hearty dishes.

Miklagard – Our Dessert mead, Made on Caramelly base, and aged on ungodly amounts of roasted dates and figs, which over the maturation period gives this wonderful mead something of a near Sherry flavor. Flavorful, sweet, exotic

Miklagard Dessert Mead
Miklagard - Home of the Varangians

Our dessert mead is the pinnacle of luxury. Made with a base of slowly caramelized honey, and fermented on the lowest possible temperature. Matured on ungodly amounts of roasted figs and dates. This - combined with a very very long maturation period, gives us a mead that not only has a flavor the emperor would desire, but a flavor sherry-lovers will immediately recognized. This - is one for the ages !

Agdir ( Bochet)
Our first mead had to be the infamous Bochet.

Agdir sports a clear, deep golden to copper color and no head. It has an intense aroma of honey, heather, and caramel, with hints of flower, oak, and vanilla.

On the palate, it's warming and sweet, with a full body and a slightly oily texture. You'll taste the sweetness of honey, the richness of caramel, and hints of dried fruit and oak. The long finish is a pleasure to savor. This mead is perfect as a heart warmer, with desserts, or simply to enjoy on its own. You'll love the balance of sweetness and complexity, making it easy to drink and impossible to forget.
Møy Base Mead
Experience our summer staple, a clear golden mead with a balanced aroma of honey, toffee, and a touch of floral notes, followed by a warming sensation of alcohol. The mild yet distinct honey taste is complemented by a hint of apple cider acidity, leaving a long-lasting sweet aftertaste. This full-bodied and flavorful mead has a dark golden-colored body, clear with a few bubbles, featuring caramel hints, wood, and flower notes with a vague honey touch. With its intense and clean taste, this mead is perfect for those looking for a unique and memorable experience.
